World Wrestling Entertainment has decided to assist wounded soldiers and veterans by stating the news in a press release at Stamford recently. Thirty wounded soldiers and veterans will get to watch the live action at the Monday Night Raw as special VIPs on 30th June at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City on USA Network.
Jim Ross, the famous WWE announcer was contacted by the national organization Soldiers’ Angels for having the soldiers and veterans watch the show. Jim Ross finalized the arrangements and said that the servicemen who are guests to WWE are family to him and it’s an honor for him to do his small part in helping the war wounded soldiers and veterans. He is sure that the people will not forget the night full of actions very soon.
Ross said that WWE distributes free tickets to all the active duty military personnel if the tickets are not sold out. The Corporate Patriot Award received by WWE at the annual GI Film Festival in Washington, D.C is an example of the support provided by WWE to the U.S. Military personnel and their families. WWE had also received the first ever “Legacy of Hope” award from the USO of Metropolitan Washington.
WWE had been consistent in performing various welfare activities. WWE is responsible for improving the quality of life for troops by supporting the military personnel and their families, and received Army Air Force Exchange Service Award for this. WWE also received Secretary of Defense Exceptional Public Service Award for their outstanding public service to the service members in Iraq and Afghanistan.
