The fact is that if there had been just the wrestlers fighting with each other in fancy under wears, hugging each other; no body would have liked the thing. What we like today in the wrestling world is the spice and action behind the scenes. The whole credit for this goes to the wrestlers, who, with their grudges with other wrestlers, have able to grip the audience. Let’s begin our Top rivalries of all times:
1. Hogan vs. Piper
Hulk Hogan has always been linked to the most fearsome wrestlers, from Bob Backlund, Andre the Giant to The Rock and Vince McMahon. But the Hulk is more famous for his rivalry with the Rowdy Piper. The two fighters can use every trick known to knock the other down.
2. Andy Kaufman vs. Jerry Lawler
Andy Kaufman the legendary comedian, who grew up by watching wrestling, took off against Jerry Lawler and some of the country’s most blood-thirsty fans. Kaufman, the “Inter-Gender Wrestling Champion of The World” would give $1000 to any who could beat him. Lawler, unhappy with Andy, piledrived him and broke his neck.
3. Ric Flair vs. Dusty Rhodes
It is usually the situation that whenever the two wrestlers were engaged in a fight it results in a lot of blood spilled on the floor. It began when Flair won the NWA title from Rhodes in 1981. In the parking lot outside a NWA show in 1986, Ric broke Dusty’s arm increasing the rivalry further.
4. WCW vs. nWo
This was the hottest feuds of the 1990s. To contrast the rivalry was not between the wrestlers but between the organizations World Championship Wrestling and New World Order. The rivalry lasted half a decade, just to grab people’s attention.
5. Tiger Mask vs. Dynamite Kid
Some thirty years ago the fights were not that fierce but were rather slow comprising of dangerous moves like suplex, climbing on the ropes. When the wrestlers entered the ring the audience was sure to view some dangerous moves.
6. Raven vs. Tommy Dreamer
Dreamer became famous after his long years of grudge with Raven that started in 1995. Dreamer can never won a match fighting against Raven except the last one.
7. The Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boyz, Edge and Christian
The rivalry is not limited to the individuals but can also include tag teams, as this one in the past that comprised six peoples. All the teams fought with each other and their TLC match in Wrestlemania 2000 was the best match on the show.
8. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Malenko
Y2J Chris Jericho had been involved in entertaining the audience in the ring as well as with the mic. The matches between the two were some form of exhilarating fights in WCW history.
9. The Undertaker vs. Kane
The giants wanted to prove whose better of the two, so they fought with each other and commonly called as Brothers of Destruction, though uniting at certain occasions to fight against some other enemy.
10. Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels
This was a kind of real life rivalry and the wrestlers were enemies both inside and outside the ring. Even after a decade the hatred is still alive between them.
11. Austin vs. McMahon
The rivalry between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon has made WWE what it is today. Austin has been on Vince’s side for many years but their most recent conflict resulted in Vince getting his head shaved bald.
