It may be the fact that the professional fights are “Fake” but it is the moves that are highly dangerous to risk life. If the wrestlers had not been performing their actions so flawlessly, the life and the career of the other wrestler would have ended. Let’s have a look at the top eleven moves.
1. Lariat
Wondering how can such a basic move, which every wrestler nowadays is performing, can be listed in this list? Well the answer is quite simple. If the move is performed exactly, how it is meant to be, then the move can be quite dangerous breaking noses, cheeks and orbital bones. This is how it is done, run towards the opponent, extend arms and knock him over.
2. MoonSault
Japanese wrestler Great Muta promoted this move commonly known as “Backflip Splash”. The move is performed as, the wrestler faces away from their opponent before launching themselves in the air, tucking backward, and landing belly-down on their foe. The wrestlers doing it can damage their knees and any miss landing can break the neck.
3. German Suplex
The wrestler grasps another by his waist from behind, pulls him over his head, making the lifted wrestler to land head and neck first on the mat. This is done in succession and risks spinal injury the most. It happened once that Chris Benoit delivered ten in a row to Austin to win the match.
4. Diving Elbow Drop
The wrestler climbs up the top rope, jumps with all his force and lands up with his elbow on the rib cage of the opponent. If performed accurately this move can collapse the lung and crack the vertebrae of the opponent, risking life.
5. The Pedigree
This move is the most disliked by the wrestlers. Also referred to as the “Double underhook Facebuster”, the victim is placed with his head between the legs of the giver in which he jumps and lands on knees driving the opponent’s face hit the mat.
6. Powerbomb
This is how it is done, lift a wrestler by his waist, and smash him on the ground with his neck and back landing on the ground with incredible force. This can deform the spine and can also paralyze the person.
7. Shooting Star Press
The wrestler does a tucked-knee backflip from the top rope before extending to a bodysplash. There is no scope for errors in this move for any wrestler. Brock Lesnar, once, under rotated and was so badly hurt that the audience was wondering whether he survived or not.
8. Diving Headbutt
The wrestler had to climb up the ropes and jump on to another wrestler with the jumping wrestler’s head hitting the other. This move is capable of damaging the cranial tissue and brain resulting in loss of senses.
9. Space Flying Tiger Drop
This is the craziest form of aerial moves. This is a no-hands dive over the top rope to the wrestler standing outside the ring, unknowing whether he is going to fall over the wrestler or on the ground.
10. Flapjack
This is a move in which the wrestler lifts the other wrestler running towards him, where he comes crashing down. This involves great risks, as he can seriously injure his head, arms and even can cause his death.
11. PileDriver
This is one of the deadliest moves. In some territories its use is banned with the giver being disqualified and receiver usually being taken on a stretcher. This can easily lead to nasty spinal cord compression.
