In the past there have been some examples of wrestling based movies, which include Nacho Libre, Ready to rumble and Grunt to name a few. However none of the movies is based on a horror theme and has not showed a wrestling star in a villainous role. Wrestlemaniac shows us what can happen if the wrestling world combines with the film industry.

Wrestlemaniac is a story of El Mascarado, former Mexican wrestling star, who has been exiled to a deserted ghost town named “La Songre De Dios” (or the blood of god). The movie stars Rey Mysterio and the former WWE diva search girl Leyla Milani.

The film starts as an amateur porn group travels through Mexico hoping to arrive at a popular beach to shoot what they hope to be the next great porn film. Debbie and Dallas (Leyla Milani) are the female porn stars in a lead role. The other actors are Alphonse, the dirty porn director, Steve the camera man and an American born Mexican, who is also a wrestling star.

Though being a low budget production it scores well and it was great to see both the worlds coming together. However some of the blood effects were not that great. The movie will definitely feel exciting if you are a wrestling fan. The movie is fairly short lasting only an hour and fifteen minutes.
